I’ve been getting this question a bit lately, so I figured it was time for an update.
First thing: The movie is 100% done, which is awesome. Runtime… just shy of 80 minutes. A nice, short flick that doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. I’m really happy with how it all turned out. It features great performances, it looks really pretty and I think it packs a few surprises.
Unfortunately, as for when you’ll be able to see it, the answer is currently "I don’t know, but hopefully soon!" We sadly didn’t make the cut at either Sundance or SXSW. I always knew those festivals would be a giant long shot for a tiny micro-budget indie with “no stars” (the festival’s word, not mine… I think our cast is full of stars). That being said, I’d be lying if I said my ego came away unscathed. But I’m confident the flick will still find it’s audience and a great home.
It’s being considered at a bunch more fests, and hopefully soon we’ll know where the movie will have it’s premiere. There’s festivals in North Carolina, NYC and Los Angeles that are considering it, so hopefully those places will get to see the movie in the next few months. And after that we’ll get to take it to some new cities and show it off.
And if you’re LA based and worked on the film, made it into the thank you’s in the credits, or pledged $200 or more on our Kickstarter, we’re working on a private screening sometime soon — hopefully the end of February or early March. When that happens you’ll know.
Thanks everyone for sticking with it. I can’t wait to share the movie with you.
Stomping Ground features a lot of really great music, including an original song by one of our stars Jeramy Blackford. It’s now available on iTunes, so go get it!
Movie is a few days away from being 100% locked and loaded. Just waiting on some final score elements, VFX fixes and one last audio mix.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and that when you are out at a bar your significant other doesn’t get hit on right in front of you.
